Happy Birthday To Me (Not you, George)

Nothing like a royal baby rolling in to steal your thunder.  But don't worry, I had not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE (count them) birthday cakes to help overshadow his big day with mine.  And I got to meet Belle (the Disney princess - obviously way more cool than Kate the Duchess) at the Windsor Court tea-time (also probably way cooler than "tea time" they have the Windsor's Palace).  All in all, I think it's safe to say I won.

Here's the scoop from Nola this week:

MeetNuxe, the French skincare line that you won't be able to get enough of.  If you have been to the new Walgreen's on Magazine, you already know that it's not your typical 24/7 pharmacy.  Modeled after the pharamcies in France, it has a gorgeous skin care department stocked full of hard-to-find French skincare products.  GP put the luxurious Nuxe oil on the map, but be warned the entire line is addicting.  From the calming face lotion to the I-will-never-ski-without-it, lip balm, the Nuxe line will make you think you're in Paris. Until you step outside and are quickly reminded it's summer New Orleans.
Eat:  Italian fare at Gemellis.  Because consensus says there are not enough Italian options in this city (note: creole Italian does not count).  Lilette is hosting the pop-up restaurant August 9th.  The four course dinner includes wine pairings and is $60.00  Can't make it to the pop up? Great excuse to get your fix at Vincent's.  The veal with penne vodka special is worth the food coma at this neighborhood restaurant favorite (If it's not on the menu, anything with the homemade pappardelle is fantastico).
Drink:  A bloody mary (or twelve) at the bottomless make-your-own bloody mary bar at Tivoli & Lee.  On Saturdays and Sundays, indulge at the new Lee circle restaurant's gourmet bloody mary bar, complete with chorizo infused vodka and an array of creative accompaniments (Not a bloody fan? The $3.00 mimosa is a nice substitute).
Jet: Around Nola without the headache of finding parking.  Parking Panda, the OpenTable for parking reservations, launches today in the Big Easy allowing you to shop the garages and book your parking spot online. Think Jazz Fest, Dome games and Mardi Gras.  Intrigued? Watch this short and informative demo video. (50% off your first purchase with code: NEWORLEANSPANDA).
Fête:  With Debbie Does Doberge.  This online doberge gourmet serves up the traditional doberge in over 20 different flavors.  A fresh take on the original, Debbie Does Dorberge expands the pudding layered confection to all tastes including flavors like "Whoopie Pie" and "I-Used-To-Be-Thin-Mint."  (Dying to try the Dobites and Salty balls!) I said happy birthday to me this weekend with Red Velvet.  Royal baby who?
