Bon Weekend

I don't know about you, but I am going to be Mardi Grasing this weekend.  A little Carnival weekend wear inspiration to kick off the celebrating.
pixie pant

Have I told you about the J.Crew pixie pant? Obsessed. I bought them a few years ago and wear them with EVERYTHING.  It is the best $88.00 I have ever spent.  They are thick and suck everything in like spanx.  They come cropped (called "short" on the website) or long. A.D.O.R.E the cropped.  I wear them with long button downs and scarves during the day and silk tops with heels at night.  The BEST! (How cute are those Kelly Wearstler scarves, btw? In Mardi Gras colors. LOVE!)

nola notes:  around town this weekend
Mardi Gras, obv!
Vendredi:  3 Krewes Uptown- Morpheus, Hermes and d'Etat = St. Charles parade watching and a sip or two from The Columns.  (This has to take you back to the college days, no?)
Samedi:  I'm shooting for a morning Uptown busy with Iris and then a cruise over to Mid-City for the evening Endymion parade.  Since Mandina's and Katie's are sure to be full to the brim, I'm hoping to try some French Vietnamese fusion at Cafe Minh.
Dimanche Rounding out the weekend with four more Uptown parades and a pot of Gumbo.  We have tweaked Mr. B's famous Gumbo Ya-Ya to make it non-professional kitchen friendly.  Great for occasions or a Sunday on the sofa watching Downton Abbey. (Look for the recipe post this weekend!)

Happy Mardi Gras everyone!!
